East Central SFA Nelson Grass Farm Tour

East Central SFA chapter members Ryan and Desiree Nelson are hosting a farm tour/animal raising on pasture demonstration at their farm, Nelson Grass Farm, in Ogilvie, MN on Saturday August 20, 2022 starting at 1:00 pm.  This is not an open house so we appreciate everyone arriving at as close to 1:00 pm as possible so you can be guided through and don’t miss parts of this tour/demonstration. 

The Nelson’s are in their tenth year at Nelson Grass Farm and rotationally graze laying hens, broiler chickens, pigs and a small cattle herd on pasture. They also manage two livestock guardian dogs for animal protection.  Many of their systems have been developed through learning and making mistakes, and have built Their own shelters for use on pasture. They will show how they raise each animal on pasture at their farm, including fencing, shelters and feeding.

This is a family friendly event.  We ask that you register in advance so we can plan accordingly.
