Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge Silvopasture, Oak Savanna, Adaptive Grazing Field Day

SFA's Silvopasture and Grazing specialists will be co-hosting the event with a cohort of UMN researchers and Refuge staff to share the results of the research here at the refuge on using targeted grazing impact for vegetation management and restoration of oak savanna. There will be additional overview on oak savanna history, restoration and management, as well as discussion and demonstration of adaptive grazing management and prescribed fire. Some hands on training will be offered. Please come with appropriate outdoor foot wear and clothing for variable weather conditions. Lunch will be provided.

This field day was funded by the Legislative Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources. The event is part of a joint effort between the University of Minnesota Extension, SFA, Great River Greening, and the Center for Integrated Natural Resource Agricultural Management.
