TC Growers Spotlight: Feed-Me Farms

09/23/2021 04:00 PM - 05:30 PM CT

Description

Join the TC Growers for a free tour and discussion at Feed-Me Farms in Minnetonka.

Jake Jarecki started Feed-Me Farms and is in the second year of production. He farms former lawn at a Synagogue, Lutheran Church, and a friend's side yard. Jake’s is a great case study on how to get started without a lot of money.  We will explore what it takes to start a market farm. What skills, assets, and experiences do you bring to the table?

You do not need to own land to farm, especially if you are just starting out. Growing on city lots can be a low cost, low risk way to get a start in farming, and gain valuable experience, build assets and cultivate business relationships. FeedMeFarms has made a great start.

SFA's COVID-19 Preparedness Plan will be implemented at this event. Registration strongly encouraged for planning purposes. Walk ups welcome.

This event is hosted by the Twin Cities Metro Growers Network, a partnership between SFA and University of Minnesota Extension.
